The LifeStraw is a portable water filter that could save lives in an emergency situation. It allows you to immediately and safely drink from nearly any contaminated water source like rivers, creeks or lakes. The LifeStraw can filter up to 1,000 liters of water to a quality that meets US EPA drinking standards. The filter removes 99.9% of waterborne bacteria, E. coli and salmonella, waterborne protozoa, Giardia and Cryptosporidium. The LifeStraw is designed to remove bacteria and parasites but does not remove chemicals, so while you may be tempted to try and drink the pool water, it’s not recommended unless you really like chlorine. Watch a school teacher drink cow poop and pond water through the LifeStraw in the video below.
